I have lightbox or colorbox activated and it is functioning as it should, however the images are maybe 500 by 300 or vice versa. These are images that are at least 1048 x1048 normally.
Any pointers?
You need to change the preview image size under settings > image. Then re-scan your galleries.
You can use the jQuery Colorbox plugin it will allow you to control the lightbox a bit more
I reset the size in the indicated settings that say image Preview max size. Not sure what you mean by rescan your images. I have since then created newer galleries after having updated the size and they all do the same thing. It should also be noted that the thumbnails once clicked, begin large in their normal size “without showing the image” then shrink to the sizes specified above.
