Hi Hax,
Just done another “vanilla” install test on a completely new host (my work’s hosting account) as follows:
* Installed a brand new WordPress site using the default Twenty Eleven theme
* Added a couple of Widgets to the Showcase template
* Installed the Image Store plugin, left settings as default
* Added a new public gallery with a single test image
Viewed the gallery with the default settings, everything as expected (full width page).
Changed the Album and Gallery templates in Image Store settings to both “Showcase” and “Sidebar” templates and viewed the Gallery on both occasions. No widget sidebar was displayed with either template setting, the gallery continued to be shown with the default full width template.
I’ve run this exact test on my own web hosting platform too with the same results, the template setting in Image Store seems to have no effect even on a clean “vanilla” installation of WordPress.
As I’ve seen comments on the WordPress support forum from others experiencing the same issue I’d conclude that there is a problem with the template setting.
From my point of view, I’m using the Kingsize theme and have discovered a theme option that gives me a workaround I can use to get an acceptable result from the Image Store. I say “acceptable” in that I can achieve a full width gallery page but there are compromises in other areas of my site that I don’t want to be stuck with going forward, and therefore would like to see this template issue resolved as soon as possible.
Thanks,
M
