When a new gallery is created, the directory appears to be correct (/_imsgalleries/gallery-1108 for example), but all the images are uploaded to the wp-content directory, the image gallery directory is not created, and no errors are shown. The gallery can be seen, but the thumbnail on the gallery edit page is not shown.
This started to happen a couple of days ago, when the permissions on the wp-content directory and subdirectories was accidentally changed. This was noticed when an attempt to create a gallery failed with error messages. The permissions have since been set correctly (rwx for www-data) but since then no gallery folders are created.
I tried resetting the configuration but the problem persists.
I would appreciate any help on this issue.
Many thanks,
Michael.

Be sure that the “gallery information” metabox is located (shows ) before the image metabox. You can place the boxes anywhere on the page just be sure that the info box shows before the images.
