Customers are placing orders on the site. Order gets through to paypal and charges the customer. No sales are registered in the admin section. No customers are listed in the admin section. The customer is seeing total payment:blank and transaction number:blank after returning to the website from paypal. Seems like the sale is not making it back to the image store even though it is completing in paypal.

August 15, 2012 at 9:39 pm #49127Xpark MediaKeymasterMake sure that you have paypal set up properly, make sure that palpal is sending IPN to your home page, and the return page allows post notifications.
Also check your server log for errors

I have resent the IPNs from paypal, but I still don’t see them. I see nothing in the server error logs. Any way I can take the IPN details from paypal and test with the site?
August 16, 2012 at 10:30 am #49162shanemc13ParticipantOkay, it looks to be working now. New orders are sending the IPN through correctly. We just missed orders up to the point of setting up the IPN. Thanks for your help!
August 16, 2012 at 11:13 am #49169128kAJParticipantI’m having a similar problem, in that orders and payment are being received by Paypal, and I am getting the money and the new order notification email.
However, after Paypal has finished processing the order it redirects to my site, but the page is totally black (as in nothing but white in the browser). The URL reads:
…/galleries/gallery-name/receipt
Is there a ‘receipt’ page missing that I need to set up?
Furthermore, no email is getting through to the buyer, even though I am getting a purchase notification and the money is entering Paypal.
Finally, the sale is not registering in the admin section of the site.
Following the above advice, I have configured Paypal so the IPN URL is my homepage and that message delivery is enabled.
August 16, 2012 at 11:48 am #49170128kAJParticipantOK, so I’ve played around with the Paypal settings some more and now when it redirects back to my site I get the ‘receipt’ page but the order information on that page is blank, and no email is being sent to the buyer (but is being sent to the seller, as is the money) and no order information is being entered into the Sales section of the admin pages.
Is there a list of settings that have to be set in Paypal for this to work as it seems that’s where the problem lies, its just that I have no real idea what they might be (as there are a lot!)
