I have created a bunch of galleries that all public. All gallery IDs are unique.
I would like to create a search field on my homepage that searches for a public gallery without the use of a password. Could you give me an idea how I can accomplish this?

The plugins has a setting that allows the galleries to show on the main search. settings > general > Searchable galleries.
You can activate the option and add wordpress search form, to filter the search only to galleries add and additional field form
