not sure I undertand your question? you can uplaod image from any where to read and display the images they need to recide on the same server. I was asked once if the plugin could be use with amazon S3, but I can’t test it I don’t have a amazon account.

you will have to create a plugin or a page theme to pull the information you can use the WordPress function get_post( GALLERY_TRUE_ID ) to get the gallery information.
To get individual image information you can use
$metadata = get_post_meta( IMAGE_ID, '_wp_attachment_metadata', true );this will return an array. to display the user information useecho $metadata['image_meta']['credit']I am sorry, I am not familiar with the theme. For fixes and customization on other themes you can contact the theme developer.
For the most part if links are not working you have javascript error and you will have to customize your css to fit your needs.

No, not currently unless you hack the plugin and then you will not be able to upgrade. I will take a look at it for the next release.
One idea for the secure gallies is not to provide or promote direct links to the images. Probably the only one that can promote these links are your clients.
Currently there are 2 things that you can do. Disable the “searchable images ” setting in image stor, if you have it enable and remove you image.php template on your theme.
I will add additional security to this images on the next release. FYI I have removed your linke to protect your galleries.
I did a quick test and the sort works fine, when you select “Title” is the name under “title/caption” also the date filter works fine. Note that sort only works within the gallery not on the albums.
