if you are using image store 2.2.2 there is bug, the only way you can make it work is using another plugin like “lightbox 2” or you can install and test Image Store 3.0 RC2 which should have fix the problem.
are you using image store 2.2.2 ? there is a few issues, but you can test Image store 3.0 RC2 the issues have been fixed.
try using Image store 3.0 RC2, and when you install the plugin refresh your permalinks, and where are you having problems on post or custom post types?

make sure that you have the wp_footer() function in your theme; also check your browser javascript console and see if you are getting any errors.
you can disable all the styles on the plugin to see if there is any problems with the styles you can always add your own, and I recommend to add them in your theme style to be able to upgrade the plugin.
can you post a link to your site? the styles usually is because you are missing the wp_footer() function, check your page.php template.
Currently there is no support for this, but the plugin uses custom post types and you can use a plugin a create your own template to display your galleries here is a plugin that can help

you can increase the number under the settings > general > albums per page or you can create your own template and create your own query, the post type is ims_gallery
